At Creative Log homes we specialize in building custom handmade fully scribed log homes. We work with our customers and engineers to build the custom house of your dreams. Once your plans are finalized. We purchase the premium house logs with a 12 inch minimum tops of the species that was requested. Once in the building yard each log will be hand peeled and then chosen for its location in the new home. Each log will be scribed and carved with a chainsaw to fit into its location in the home. The entire log home shell is built in our yard labeled disassembled and shipped anywhere in the world where we reassemble the house.

Our construction methods have stood the tests of time, with our oldest homes still tight fitting. The reasons our homes keep the problems to the minimum starts by carefully selecting the logs to be free of spirals and defects. Secondly our preferred notch, the Norwegian notch is designed to lock the log in place and resist twisting and lifting. Thirdly steel anchor bolts run vertically though the log walls and are to be adjusted regularly maintaining proper pressure through the settling process.

We specialize in fully scribed log homes witch means there is no need for chinking between the logs. Each log has lineal cut running the length of the log that follows the couture of the log below it. The result is a perfect fit. Insulation is placed inside the lineal cut on reassembly.
